Happy New Year, everyone!
To kick off 2016, I though I’d share a collection of questions I received via my website over the past year, all being on the personal side, not about my career in tights.
Where do you live?
I live in San Francisco, in what’s often called the Tendernob area, which is a sort of intermediary neighborhood between the Tenderloin and Nob Hill. For those of you not familiar with the city’s neighborhoods, Nob Hill is quite nice. The Tenderloin is quite not. I live closer to the Tenderloin side, so it’s not as grimy and crime-ridden as a couple blocks south, but also not as nice as a few blocks north.
Do you rent or own?
I rented for several years, but in 2009, I purchased this building. It’s not large (few residences within the city are), having a master bedroom and a small guest room. But it has a huge kitchen, an upper deck, and other features that make me love it. It’s also suitable as headquarters for a small team like mine.
What’s in your fridge?
Aside from the basics found in most everyone’s fridge, you’ll currently find leftovers of my New Year’s pork and sauerkraut dinner. (Yes, I’m from Pennsylvania.) Some other things include a selection of nice cheeses, pumpkin and fig butters, and red currant juice.
What’s your favorite breakfast?
Good grief. What kind of question is that? I love food, people! And I eat like a hobbit. Bring it on! That being said, I’m pretty partial to French toast, my brother’s pancakes, and lately I’ve been on a Cream of Wheat kick.
What kind of car do you drive?
I’ve only ever owned one car, and that was during college. In San Francisco, I don’t really need one. Public transportation here is good. I also use Lyft sometimes. And, oh yeah… I can fly.
What do you do in your free time?
Free time? I seem to recall having that, once upon a time. Actually, I listen to a lot of music. Lately, I’ve been trying to read more. I’ll catch the occasional movie at the theater, and have been known to binge on Netflix now and then. I also like to cook, though I find myself doing less of that as the years go on.
What’s your favorite game?
I’ve had several, over the years. As a kid, I loved Life. Then it was Trivial Pursuit or other trivia games. Lately, though, I’ve been playing Cards Against Humanity. Don’t judge me.
What’s the best gift you’ve ever received?
Forgiveness.
