Friends are wonderful things. Though to look over my website, you might think I don’t have any. The only other face appearing on my site (other than mine, and other than in cartoon form) is Macy’s. She’s the one who maintains this site and she’s on the Contact page, in case you’ve never clicked there.
But if you’re familiar with my history, you know I wouldn’t be where I am if it weren’t for my friends. Heck, I imagine just about everyone can say that. So I’m pleased to say that those friends will be getting some tiny bit of the recognition they deserve.
Over the next couple years, this site will be growing… filled with faces of my friends. Honest. Look up there and click on “Profiles,” if you don’t believe me. The first to appear is my dear friend Sinta. In the meta world, I’ve known her longer than most. There will be profiles of teams, too, beginning with the Bay Scouts, then the Gatekeepers, and finally, the Pariah Project.
This whole thing was, I’m embarrassed to say, not my idea. It was Macy’s. (Like I said, I write these blogs, but that’s about the only input I have. This is her show.) And she didn’t even run it by me. She just went ahead and found an artist to do all the lovely portraits you’ll be seeing and surprised me this week by showing me the images of Sinta and the page profile she did. And I couldn’t be happier.
Who’s next? I have no idea. It’s going to be a surprise each time, she says. I usually don’t like surprises, but in this case? Love it.
So for those of you who’ve read The Many Deaths of Dynamistress books, now you’ll have some ideas as to what my friends and teammates look like. And you might even learn some things about these people that aren’t even mentioned in the books!
Enjoy! I know I will!
